Essentia to provide platform for promoting open source software soon – The Hindu
A platform for open source community development,a place where people can come together to create and
promote open source software, will be launched in early 2009. Open source, unlike proprietary software,
gives the user freedom to modify the source code and does not have licences.

Essentia will enable developer contributions to the Common Customer View (CCV), the OSA’s reference implementation for building interoperability best practices. Based on the feedback it receives from the
community, the OSA intends to more widely deploy the platform in the coming months
